Domed Delight

The project story

How this project came together

1. 1

   The challenge

The kitchen had plenty of cabinets, but the white appliances, dark busy counters and cluttered corners made it feel dated and hard to keep organized. The homeowners wanted a cleaner, brighter kitchen that still felt warm and suited the home's unusual domed architecture.

   What we did

We installed new shaker-style cabinetry in a rich wood tone, paired with white tall pantry cabinets and brushed-gold hardware. Studio A chose light countertops, a white subway tile backsplash with a blue-green glass mosaic band, and a full mosaic feature behind the range under a stainless chimney hood. Smart storage went in throughout, including pull-out wire organizers and a pull-out trash and recycling center, along with stainless appliances and a wall oven. In the bathroom, brushed-gold fixtures and a handheld shower set add warmth, while the domed living areas with arched windows were refreshed to match.

   The result

A kitchen that feels open, organized and warm, with finishes that make the most of this home's one-of-a-kind shape.
