The project story
How this project came together

The challenge
The home had great bones and tall arched windows, but tan walls, heavy drapes and honey oak trim made it feel dated and darker than it should. The homeowners wanted a fresh modern farmhouse style that felt bright, relaxed and connected across every level.

What we did
We painted the walls a soft gray, refinished the staircase with a black handrail over white balusters and added dark wood ceiling beams in the dining area. Studio A chose black orb chandeliers, shiplap accent walls and a living room fireplace wall with stacked stone and floating shelves. The kitchen features white cabinetry with a dark contrasting island, light countertops and a white tile backsplash. A bathroom gained a distressed white vanity with stone-look tile, and the lower level was refreshed as a family space.

The result
A home that feels lighter, warmer and more cohesive, with modern farmhouse character flowing from the entry to the lower level.
